Denise Tsui is an accomplished arts and culture writer and editorial strategist with over 15 years of experience across the international art world. Based in Melbourne after a decade in Hong Kong, her expertise spans copywriting, editing, publishing, digital content production and exhibition project management.

As the Head of Editorial, Asia at Sotheby’s she led regional editorial strategy and oversaw the development of written and digital content for the auction house across the region. Reporting to a global team, Denise was responsible for ensuring alignment with the company’s global brand direction. In addition to her editorial leadership, she contributed to photoshoots, marketing campaigns, and curatorial initiatives. Denise also provided cross-departmental editorial support, including editing press releases, catalogue essays, team biographies, and other key assets.

Denise began her career in Hong Kong at ArtAsiaPacific and has since worked across a wide range of galleries, publications, private collections, and non-profit institutions, cultivating a deep understanding of contemporary art and the global art market. She was previously Managing Editor of CoBo Social, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the publication’s editorial voice, commissioning critical writing, and expanding its coverage of contemporary art and culture in Asia. During her tenure, Denise wrote extensively on the art market—including spearheading the monthly column Market Chats—and helped grow the publication’s audience across both its website and social media platforms.

Denise holds an MA in Art Curatorship from the University of Melbourne and a BFA from the Victorian College of the Arts.
