Do It — Melbourne, 2007

Co-curated as part of my studies at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne.

Students at the Centre for Ideas at the Victorian College of the Arts and the Central Academy of Fine Art Beijing participated international art project Do It. The infamous project started as a discussion between the artists Christian Boltanski and Bertrand Lavier, and the writer Hans Ulrich Obrist, in 1993 and has since become a global phenomenon staged around the world in more than 50 museums and institutions. Do It centres around the use of written instructions to make works of art in an effort to observe the effects of translation. Many renowned artists—from Yoko Ono, Louise Bourgeois and Thomas Hirschhorn to Antonio Negri—have written or drawn instructions for artists to follow.

The exhibition was installed across Margaret Lawrence Gallery, VCA, and Alliance Française in St. Kilda.
